Studio founders, Jeri Wilson and Susan Golden believed that mid-Maine yogis were ready to embrace a yoga community and a dedicated space for yoga practice. And they were right! Kathleen Haberstock continues to move their vision forward, along with the whole SSY family of teachers, sharing their passion for yoga. SSY continues to give the community a familiar, warm, uplifting space to thrive and grow in.

Kathleen Leisure Haberstock discovered the healing power of yoga, in 2009, when she dedicated herself to her practice. Drawn to the physical practice at first, she later found the more profound changes occurred over time with a deeper mind/body connection.
Jeri Wilson, believes in trying to live her yoga practice on and off the mat. She's a nationally certified teacher, having completed her 200 and 500-hour certifications, and has been teaching since early 2005.

Susan Golden is a nationally certified yoga teacher. She transitioned easily from working as a registered nurse to teaching yoga. In combining both professions, her knowledge of anatomy and desire to help people comes through clearly in her teachings.

Wendy has been teaching yoga since 2005, and received a second certification in 2014 from Darren Rhodes. She is fascinated by the parallels between asana and life off the mat. Wendy's love of studying alignment and anatomy is apparent in her teachings.Wendy is a homeschooling mama who misses the mountains, travels as much as her kids allow, and enjoys arm balances and tequila-though not together.

Tiffany believes that yoga can and should be accessible to ALL people, regardless of age, level of physical fitness or religious beliefs. With an open mind and a sense of curiosity, anyone can find the perfect style of yoga to practice for themselves.

Christiane Guillois has been practicing yoga since her adolescent years in France. She obtained certification as a yoga teacher in 2011 at School Street Studio, and has trained in teaching Yin Yoga with Joshua Summers. With her background in Chinese medicine, dance, and pranayama, she is especially attuned to the interaction between the body and the meditative aspects of Yin Yoga.

Heather recently completed her 500-hour advanced teacher training certificate through Janet Stone, one of San Francisco's premiere yoga instructors. Heather also completed an additional 200 Hour YTT Certification with Baptiste Masters, Claire Este-McDonald and Gregor Singleton. Heather travels to San Francisco often and recently traveled to Bali with her teacher, Janet Stone to deepen her understanding of Bhakti Yoga.

Mari began practicing Yoga for the physical exercise around 15 years old but soon discovered the magic in shivasana. Since then she has worked to deepen her own practice and expand her knowledge of all forms of Yoga as well as the philosophy of yogic teachings.

Reuben has developed a wide range of experience as a health practitioner. He studied medical herbalism in Colorado, Thai yoga massage in Thailand, and completed a YTT on his most recent trip to India. He draws on his experience in these fields to form a unique teaching style, and enjoys sharing this ancient healing art with his local community.

Beth's taught classes at School Street Yoga for several years, leading classes in hatha yoga, yoga nidra meditation, chakra yoga and in the Trauma Center's trauma sensitive yoga method. Her specialty classes focus on mantra, meditation and freeing up space in the body through a practice that encourages micro-movement and choice-making.

Emily Widor has been in love with yoga since being introduced to the practice at School Street Yoga in 2009. She loves the relationship that yoga has facilitated between herself and her body and strives to help others develop this sense of awareness to their own Self. Emily is a mom and loves teaching yoga, and working with moms and babies! She is 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher certified and also has an additional certification in Baby and Me yoga.

Carol Paradis discovered the benefits of yoga in 1993, while looking for a way to reduce stress and manage grief. Her practice continued after the death of her father and led her to a deeper study of the tradition. Branching out from local teachers Lillian McMullin and Roxann Donahue, she began training at the Kripalu Yoga Center.

Laura Meader knew when she discovered yoga it was the perfect blend of strength, balance, and stretching she had been working on for years in the gym. She took to it like a fish to water. Diving deeper, she discovered the benefits of pranayama, meditation, alignment principals, and a dedicated practice that now have her hooked.

Jeff started and facilitates the free meditation circle at School Street Yoga on Wednesday nights, 7-8 PM, open to all. He sometimes teaches introductory meditation classes at School Street Yoga through MaineGeneral Medical Center's Healthy Living Resource Center and sometimes co-teaches meditation through Adult Education with his wife, yoga teacher Jeri Wilson.
