This one day course will provide the attendees with advanced knowledge of the skeletal muscle system. It will cover both the anatomy and physiology of our muscles and how to incorporate this knowledge into the practice of yoga. Bring your individual questions as well. Designed for yoga teachers and long-term practitioners.
Jop Blom is a physical therapist at MaineGeneral in Manchester and Winthrop. After graduating from PT school in The Netherlands, he worked for 3 years in the Congo with children with polio and clubfeet. He came to the USA in 1985 and worked in Boston in a hospital setting as well as in homecare and outpatient practices. He obtained a master of Public Health from Boston University and a PhD from Brandeis. He has taught at the Physical therapy program at Northeastern University and currently teaches kinesiology at Panacea School of Integrative Health in Hallowell. His practice has a focus on Orthopedics, Spine Issues and Manual Therapy.
